This little gourdbaby is one of over a hundred gourdbabies created and donated by California Gourd Society patch members for the "Ashanti Mother" fundraising project (click hereto find out more or purchase tickets). This tiny gourdbaby took about 11 hours to create. An opening was cut and sanded, the face was shaped and molded to fit, the design was laid out and pyroengraved, and colors were added with dye and pen. Decorations of acorn cap and beads gave the Woodland Gourdbaby her finishing touches.
